Meet The Team

Experienced Practitioners, Dedicated to Your Care

Nurtured Thoughts brings together psychiatrists, specialist GPs, psychologists and mental health social workers, so you can access a range of mental health support in one place. Some practitioners are part of the Nurtured Thoughts practice. Others are independent practitioners who see patients through our rooms and via telehealth while running their own practices.

Whichever practitioner you see, you can expect a person‑centred, evidence‑based approach that takes your story seriously and tailors care to your needs. Each practitioner is registered with AHPRA, the AASW or another relevant professional body and is responsible for their own clinical practice.

When you book, we’ll let you know who you’re seeing, whether they practise independently, and their fees and cancellation policy, so you always know who is responsible for your care and what to expect.

She has a strong interest in how ADHD can present in women, especially when symptoms have been missed, minimised or attributed to other causes.

Shwetha Murthy
Dr Shwetha Murthy

Specialist GP

Dr Shwetha is a Specialist General Practitioner with extensive experience across multiple fields of medicine and a particular interest in adult ADHD and mental health. Many of the people she sees are managing busy households, caring for children or relatives, and noticing patterns of attention, organisation or emotional regulation that seem to run through the family. She is especially interested in supporting women who are starting to wonder how their own history, their children’s experiences and ADHD might be connected.

Kay Walls
Dr Kay Walls

Specialist GP

Dr Kay takes a holistic, whole-person approach to ADHD and mental health, looking beyond symptoms to understand the patterns, experiences, and strengths that shape each individual.

She has a particular interest in adult women, mothers, and high-functioning individuals, as well as those from diverse cultural backgrounds, who have often spent years masking or compensating before seeking help. Many patients describe her consultations as the first time they’ve felt truly listened to and understood within the context of their cultural, family, and personal experiences.

Her style is calm, thoughtful, and collaborative, with a strong emphasis on culturally sensitive, person-centred care. She focuses on creating practical, personalised plans that fit into real life, helping patients move forward with greater clarity, confidence, and self-understanding.
