Ken Turner

Registered Psychologist

Meet Ken at a Glance

Hi - I'm Ken

I'm a Registered Psychologist who works with adults and couples. While many people initially come to therapy wanting relief from anxiety, stress, or burnout, I'm particularly interested in helping people understand the deeper patterns that have shaped how they relate to themselves, others, and the world around them.

I enjoy working with people navigating relationship concerns, managing performance expectations and burnout, or feeling like the ways they've coped in the past are no longer sufficient. My aim is to help clients develop a deeper understanding of themselves while creating meaningful, sustainable change that extends throughout all aspects of their lives.

Areas of Interest

  • Relationship concerns (including couples therapy)

  • Performance expectations and burnout (e.g., perfectionism, unrelenting standards)

  • ADHD

  • Life transitions and adjustment

  • Grief and loss

  • Anxiety, stress, and mood-related difficulties

  • Emotional regulation

  • Men's mental health

I draw from a range of evidence-based approaches, tailoring therapy to each person's goals, values, and circumstances. My work is primarily informed by:

  • Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)

  • Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)

  • Internal Family Systems (IFS)

  • Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT)

  • Gottman Method Couples Therapy

Before moving into private practice, I worked across custodial and community mental health settings, supporting people experiencing a broad range of psychological difficulties in both high-pressure and everyday life contexts. These experiences reinforced my belief that while practical strategies are valuable, lasting change often comes from understanding why we think, feel, and respond the way we do.

Whether you're navigating challenges in your relationships, struggling under the weight of performance expectations, or simply feel that life has become more about coping than truly living, therapy offers an opportunity to pause, better understand yourself, and move towards a way of living that feels both sustainable and meaningful.

It would be my privilege to support you with that.
