* Please note: For clients aged 18 years and over, an additional $100 applies. This is due to a longer initial intake session (1.5 hours instead of 1 hour) required for adult assessments.
Medicare rebates are generally not available for formal assessments. Some private health insurers may offer partial rebates — we recommend checking directly with your fund.

Booking and Deposit Policy

Due to high demand for appointments, we require a $50 deposit to secure your initial therapy booking. This deposit will be applied toward the cost of your first session. Assessment bookings may require a larger deposit to confirm, depending on the type of assessment. Our team will provide details at the time of booking.

Medicare Rebates

If you have a valid Mental Health Treatment Plan from your GP, you are eligible to claim a Medicare rebate for therapy sessions.
We also accept:

• Chronic Disease Management Plans (GP Management Plans)
• Eating Disorder Care Plans

Our team is happy to assist you with Medicare claims after your appointment.

NDIS and WorkCover Clients

If you are accessing support through an NDIS plan or WorkCover claim, there is no gap payment required — we will bill your plan or insurer directly

Private Health Cover

If you have private health insurance, you may be eligible to claim a rebate for your sessions.
We encourage all clients to check directly with their private health fund regarding their eligibility, as rebates depend on your insurer and your level of cover.

Please note:
• Psychologists and Mental Health Social Workers typically have provider numbers that are accepted by most major private health insurers.
• If you are seeing a Counsellor, rebates may depend on which private health providers they are registered with.
If you would like to check whether your therapist’s provider number is registered with your health fund, our Client Support Team is happy to assist.

Cancellation Policy

We understand that life happens and plans sometimes change. To support fair access for all clients and respect our psychologists’ time, we have the following cancellation policy:

• Cancellations within 48 hours of your appointment (therapy): 50% cancellation fee applies.
• No-shows (therapy): 100% of the session fee applies.

Therapy FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Psychology is the study of the human mind and behavior. A licensed psychologist can provide a range of mental health services to help you overcome challenges, improve your relationships, and achieve your goals. Some common reasons people seek therapy include anxiety, depression, relationship problems, trauma, and stress.

  • It can be helpful to seek therapy if you are experiencing distressing symptoms such as anxiety, depression, or persistent negative thoughts. You might also consider therapy if you are having difficulty coping with life transitions or experiencing relationship problems. Ultimately, the decision to seek therapy is a personal one, and you should consider seeking help if you feel like you are struggling and would like support.

  • Currently, Medicare provides rebates for up to 10 sessions per calendar year under a Mental Health Treatment Plan. After your initial 6 sessions, your GP will need to review your progress and approve an additional 4 sessions if needed.

  • If your Mental Health Treatment Plan, Chronic Disease Management Plan, or Eating Disorder Care Plan has expired, you will need to return to your GP for a review and to renew your referral before claiming further Medicare rebates.
Our team is happy to guide you through this process if you are unsure.

  • If you cancel your initial therapy appointment with more than 48 hours’ notice, your deposit can be refunded or transferred to a future booking. If you cancel within 48 hours, the deposit will be applied toward the 50% cancellation fee.

Assessment FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions

  • No, you do not need a referral to book an assessment. You are welcome to self-refer by contacting our Client Support Team directly. However, if you have a referral (for example, from a GP, paediatrician, or psychiatrist), please let us know so we can ensure we meet any specific requirements they have outlined.

  • Your assessment fee covers the entire process, including:

    • An initial intake interview
    • Standardised testing sessions
    • Scoring and interpretation of results
    • A detailed written report
    • A feedback session to discuss your results and next steps

There are no hidden fees — everything you need is included.

  • The full assessment process typically takes 3–6 weeks from the initial intake appointment to receiving your final report. This can vary depending on the type of assessment, client availability, and the complexity of the presenting concerns. Our team will guide you through each step and keep you informed along the way.

  • Unfortunately, Medicare rebates are generally not available for formal assessments. Some private health insurance providers may offer partial rebates for assessments, depending on your policy. We recommend checking directly with your insurer if you wish to claim.

  • Yes. For adult assessments (clients aged 18 years and over), an additional $100 applies. This is because the initial intake session is extended to 1.5 hours instead of 1 hour to allow for a more detailed history-taking process.
