How Our Brisbane ADHD Clinic Works
Our mission is making ADHD diagnosis and treatment accessible for people throughout Brisbane, the Gold Coast and Queensland.
Appointments are typically available within 1 week, including for initial assessments.
Assessment & Diagnosis
Your doctor reviews your background and evaluates how ADHD may be affecting your daily life.
If you've completed an ADHD assessment with another healthcare professional, we'll conduct a brief confirmation assessment.
Following your assessment, we'll discuss treatment options available to you.
Your Treatment Plan
Working with your ADHD doctor, you'll develop a treatment approach suited to your needs. This may include medication, ADHD coaching, counselling, lifestyle adjustments or a combined approach.
Your doctor will explain what to expect, any potential side effects of recommended treatments, and how we'll monitor your progress.
Treatment can often begin at your first appointment.
Ongoing Monitoring
Your doctor monitors your progress and adjusts treatment as required, ensuring your care remains effective and safe.
Most patients move to three-monthly reviews once symptoms are well-managed.
Long-Term Care
You'll be supported by a small clinical team committed to your ongoing wellbeing. Most Brisbane patients work with the same doctor over time.
If your regular doctor is unavailable, another team member can see you with full access to your treatment history.
This continuity of ongoing support is important when managing a lifelong condition like ADHD.

Holistic Adult ADHD Support
ADHD rarely exists in isolation. Many adults also experience challenges with mood, relationships, and managing work or study responsibilities.
It’s also common for trauma and other neurodevelopmental conditions (such as autism) to co-occur with ADHD.
Our approach to ADHD care
Beyond ADHD assessment and treatment, our Brisbane clinic can support you with:
Stress and anxiety management
Workplace and academic difficulties
Low mood and depression
Relationship and communication challenges
Other neurodevelopmental considerations
The Nurtured Thoughts team has diverse clinical backgrounds, allowing us to address most concerns in-house without external referrals or extended waiting periods.
Yes, all of our doctors are authorised to prescribe medications, including the full range of medical treatments approved for the management of ADHD in Australia. Your doctor will explain what treatments may be suitable in your initial appointment.
Yes, you will need an assessment and diagnosis of ADHD before starting treatment. If you have a prior ADHD diagnosis (from a psychologist, psychiatrist or paediatrician), our doctor will review your history and conduct a shortened assessment. For patients with an existing ADHD diagnosis, the cost for assessment and starting treatment is $995. For a new assessment, our diagnostic and treatment package is $1,950 (payable in 4 interest-free payments, if required). See the ADHD Assessment page for further information.
That’s fine. Many of the patients at our ADHD clinic are stable on medications and just require a quick review appointment every 3 months for medication management.
Our clinic is based in Queensland, but we see patients across Australia via telehealth. If medication is prescribed, you’ll be able to access it wherever you live in Australia.
No. You do not need a referral from a GP or other specialist to access our ADHD clinic.
Yes, our psychologists provide ADHD-specific coaching and skill-building for executive function challenges like organisation and time management. This can be particularly useful if you’re struggling at work or with study. Our psychologists can also support you with relationship difficulties linked to ADHD.
Once stable, most patients have a review appointment with their doctor once every 3 months. Review appointments are $249.
