ADHD Assessment in Sydney
Our mission is making ADHD diagnosis and assessment accessible for adults and adolescents throughout Sydney and New South Wales.
Telehealth appointments are typically available within 1 week, including for initial assessments.
Diagnostic Assessment
Your ADHD doctor reviews your history and evaluates how ADHD symptoms may be impacting your daily life.
If you've completed an ADHD assessment with another healthcare provider, we'll perform a brief confirmation assessment.
After your assessment, we'll discuss available treatment pathways.
Treatment Plan
Working with your ADHD doctor, you'll develop a treatment approach suited to your needs. This may include medication, ADHD coaching, counselling, lifestyle adjustments or a combined approach.
Your doctor will explain what to expect, any potential side effects of recommended treatments, and how we'll monitor your progress.
Treatment can often begin at your first appointment.
Ongoing Monitoring
Your doctor tracks your progress and adjusts treatment as required, ensuring your care remains safe and effective.
Most patients transition to three-monthly reviews once symptoms are well-managed.
Long-Term Care
You'll be supported by a small clinical team committed to your ongoing wellbeing. Most Brisbane patients work with the same doctor over time.
If your regular doctor is unavailable, another team member can see you with full access to your treatment history.
This continuity of ongoing support is important when managing a lifelong condition like ADHD.

Complete ADHD Support for Adults
ADHD rarely exists on its own. Many adults with the condition also experience challenges with relationships, mood regulation, and managing responsibilities at work or study.
It's also common for trauma and other neurodevelopmental conditions (such as autism) to occur alongside ADHD.
Our holistic approach to ADHD
Beyond ADHD diagnosis and treatment, our Sydney clinic can support you with:
Anxiety and stress
Work and academic challenges
Depression and low mood
Relationship difficulties
Other neurodevelopmental considerations
The doctors and psychologists at Nurtured Thoughts have diverse clinical backgrounds, allowing us to address most concerns internally without external referrals or lengthy waiting periods.
Yes, all of our doctors are authorised to prescribe medications, including the full range of medical treatments approved for the management of ADHD in Australia. Your doctor will explain what treatments may be suitable in your initial appointment.
Yes, you will need an assessment and diagnosis of ADHD before starting treatment. If you have a prior ADHD diagnosis (from a psychologist, psychiatrist or paediatrician), our doctor will review your history and conduct a shortened assessment. For patients with an existing ADHD diagnosis, the cost for assessment and starting treatment is $995. For a new assessment, our diagnostic and treatment package is $1,950 (payable in 4 interest-free payments, if required). See the ADHD Assessment page for further information.
That’s fine. Many of the patients at our ADHD clinic are stable on medications and just require a quick review appointment every 3 months for medication management.
Our clinic is based in Queensland, but we see patients across Australia via telehealth. If medication is prescribed, you’ll be able to access it wherever you live in Australia.
No. You do not need a referral from a GP or other specialist to access our ADHD clinic.
Yes, our psychologists provide ADHD-specific coaching and skill-building for executive function challenges like organisation and time management. This can be particularly useful if you’re struggling at work or with study. Our psychologists can also support you with relationship difficulties linked to ADHD.
Once stable, most patients have a review appointment with their doctor once every 3 months. Review appointments are $249.
