Why ADHD Patients Choose
Nurtured Thoughts

Person Using Laptop

1. Consistent Care You Can Actually Rely On

  • You won’t be left waiting weeks for email replies or chasing scripts. You’ll have a doctor and admin team who stay with you, stay reachable, and stay involved throughout your treatment - not just at the start.

2. A Real Brisbane Clinic - Not a Call Centre

  • Because we’re a physical clinic with a small Brisbane-based team, you’re looked after by people who actually know your case. No call centres, no rotating doctors, no long waits - just a local team who can reach your doctor quickly when you need help.

3. Treatment that Continues When It Matters Most

  • The real need for support starts once treatment begins. That’s why we stay accessible and responsive, with predictable follow-ups and a team who won’t disappear after your first script.

FAQs

  • Most people are able to see a psychiatrist within 1 week. We understand long waits can be stressful, so we do everything we can to offer fast, reliable access.

  • We are a local Brisbane clinic offering face-to-face therapy and telehealth psychiatry services Australia-wide.

Given that we have a small, consistent admin team, you will speak with the same people each time, not a rotating call-centre. Many patients tell us they feel genuinely supported here, not like “just another number.”

  • In most cases, yes. Treatment can be started in the same appointment if ADHD is diagnosed and it is safe to do so. If more information is needed, your doctor let you know

  • With a GP referral:

    • Initial appointment (up to 60 min): $535 gap

    • Review appointment (up to 45 min): $265 gap

    • 291 assessment (up to 60 min): $350 gap (see below for more information on what a 291 assessment involves)

Note: Bulk-billing is available for eligible rural MM2 patients for 291 assessments

**Payment plans available: Spread the cost over 4 payments (interest free)

  • A 291 is a single, one-off psychiatry appointment where the psychiatrist creates a full 12-month treatment plan for your GP to follow. Your GP must write “291” on the referral for you to receive the Medicare rebate of $455.

During this appointment, the psychiatrist will:

    • assess your mental health

    • make a diagnosis (if needed)

    • recommend appropriate treatment options

    • write a detailed plan for your GP to continue your care

After the 291 appointment, your GP can follow the plan and provide your ongoing treatment.

The alternative to a 291 is regular ongoing care with the psychiatrist instead of handing your care back to the GP. This is also available.

  • You may be eligible for bulk-billing if:

    • You live in a rural area (see steps below to check)

    • Your GP has written “291” on your referral letter

    How to check your eligibility:

Step 1: Visit the Health Workforce Locator map: https://www.health.gov.au/resources/apps-and-tools/health-workforce-locator/app?language=en

Step 2: Select “2023” under the “Modified Monash Model” tab

Step 3: Enter your address in the “Find address” box

Step 4: If your address shows as MM2–MM7, you are considered rural and may be eligible for bulk-billing

If you are unsure, our friendly admin team can help.

  • Yes. We offer the ability to spread the cost over 4 payments to make appointments more manageable. These payments are at no additional cost, interest-free and are fortnightly.
