Our Approach to ADHD Care
We believe that efficient access to care shouldn’t mean sacrificing quality. By combining the convenience of telehealth with our existing local clinic structure, we deliver fast, coordinated care across Australia, while maintaining a personal touch.
How Our ADHD Clinic Works
Our mission at Nurtured Thoughts is to make high-quality ADHD care straightforward and accessible to everyone who needs it.
Telehealth appointments at our ADHD clinic are generally available within 3 working days, including for initial assessments.
Initial Assessment
Your doctor will review your history and assess how ADHD may be affecting your life.
If you've already had an ADHD assessment elsewhere, we’ll conduct a brief evaluation to confirm the diagnosis (reducing the cost for an initial assessment).
After the assessment, we'll talk through potential treatment options. More information on ADHD assessments.
Treatment Planning
Together with your ADHD doctor, you'll create a personalised treatment plan tailored to your needs.
This might include medication, psychological support, lifestyle changes or a combination of approaches. Your doctor will explain what to expect, potential side effects if medication is recommended, and how we'll monitor your progress.
Treatment can often begin on the first appointment/initial consultation.
Regular Reviews
Most patients at our ADHD clinic move 3 monthly reviews once you and your doctor feel things are stable
Your ADHD doctor tracks your progress and adjusts treatment as needed, ensuring your care remains safe and effective.
Long-Term Support
You will be looked after by a small, close-knit team, who always have your long-term interests at heart.
Most patients at our ADHD clinic work with the same doctor on an ongoing basis. However, if your regular doctor is ever away, you can see someone else on the team who will have access to your full background and history.
This continuity of care matters, especially when you're managing a lifelong condition like ADHD.

Treating the Whole Picture, Not Just ADHD
ADHD rarely exists on its own. Many people also experience anxiety, low mood, relationship challenges and difficulty managing work and study.
Trauma and other neurodiversity (such as autism or Asperger's) also commonly co-occur alongside ADHD.
Holistic ADHD treatment
In addition to standard ADHD care, our ADHD clinic can support you with:
-
Anxiety, stress and overwhelm
-
Difficulties at work or with study
-
Concerns around depression or low mood
-
Relationship challenges
-
Other aspects of neurodiversity
Because of the varied backgrounds of our doctors and psychologists, we can address most issues in-house, avoiding long waitlists and externalreferrals.
